Checking in again...

So, its Christmas time, lots of tempting chocolates and treats around, and I can't help myself, I've been indulging more than a little...
As a result, I did not loose any weight this week, but I didn't gain any either. Will have to try harder next week.

Saturday Check In

Hello again.
Had a bit of a rough week, I missed out on two days of exercise because I was wiped out by my scoliosis. My back was aching, pain radiating into my chest and making me feel nauseous and disgusting.
I tried to stick to the eating plan, but again, not enough fruit and water, and I must confess, I indulged in some chocolate... oops!

Any way, here are my stats for the week:
Weight - 98.5 kg
Bust - 111 cm
Waist - 94 cm
Hips - 124 cm
Thigh - 76 cm

So, I lost 0.3 kg, but my measurements stayed the same.
Hopefully I will be right next week to stick to the exercise plan.

Saturday, time to check in.

Yay, another weight loss!

Stats for this week are:
Weight: 98.8 kg (a loss of exactly 1kg)
Bust: 111 cm
Waist: 94 cm
Hips: 124 cm
Thigh: 76 cm

I am very happy (and surprised) with this progress, because I'm not really happy with what I consumed this week. I was really lazy when it came to water and fruit, and I had a few high fat intake days. I really need to work on this, lets hope I do better this coming week.

Temptation & Motivation

Sometimes it is just so easy to give in to temptation...
Someone offers you chocolate, or cake at work, you just have a little... Then you get home and you're just too tired to cook. There's a take-away on the corner, you get the healthiest option, but someone else gets deliciously deep fried chips... You have to have a few, they just smell so good...

It's either been been raining or suffocatingly humid each afternoon for a week, how do you get motivated to exercise? So far I've been forcing myself, I hope I can keep it up.

Saturday: Check in Day

Another check-in day. Here's how I went this week:

Weight: 99.9kg
Bust: 112cm
Waist: 95cm
Hip: 124cm
Thigh: 73

I have reached my first short term weight goal! I am under 100kg! Yay! :)

Other Goals:
Exercise 6 days a week - check
Kept my fat intake under 25% of my total calorie intake - check
Eat 2 pieces of fruit a day - Well, I did it the last three days in a row...
Eat 5 vegies a day - Hmmm, only hit that mark 4 times
Drink 6 glasses of water a day - I did that 5 days this week

So, I need to work on my intake, of water, fruit and vegies. Hopefully I'll meet that mark next week.

But yay, under 100 kg! w00t for me!

Having a Shitty Day...

So, I found out today that I didn't get a job I really wanted. Teaching art, the subject I am trained to teach, at the school I already work at.
I'm more than a little disappointed... I'm pretty upset.

Usually when I feel like this I comfort eat. I'm trying really hard not to, I did have a few naughty foods, but nothing that has thrown me over my calorie budget, so I should be fine.

I would really like to eat a whole block of Cadbury Dairy Milk right now, but I will resist the urge, 'cos I know I'll regret it later...

Mean while, I need to re-assess my plans in life... sigh.

Re: Party Time

So I went to that party last night.
I don't think I did too badly on the calorie intake, it was over my recommended daily intake, but I did the extra exercise suggested by Sarah Miller.
I didn't even have to do it in my own time, I went on an excursion at work. We walked to and from the destination, all up it was nearly and hour of uphill walking, more than enough to compensate for the extra calories!
So I think it worked out pretty well. ^_^

Saturday: Check in Day

Okay, so every Saturday is my "Check in Day", where I weigh myself and take some measurements.
I always weigh myself first thing in the morning, after a visit to the loo and before I eat anything.


Any way, today's statistics are.....
Weight: 100.7kg
Bust: 113cm
Waist: 99cm
Hips: 129cm
Thigh: 78cm


Here is a table showing my progress since I started:

As you can see, last week I had a bit of a weight gain, but I am pretty sure that was hormone related, as I hadn't exceeded calorie intakes or missed any exercise, and it was that time of the month, if you know what I mean, haha!.


I am really happy with my progress so far, looking at this data, I should definitely be able to reach 100 kg by the 4th of December.^_^


As for my other goals, exercising, drinking water, eating my fruit and vege and reducing my fat intake, well...
  • I exercised all 6 days this week, yay!
  • My water intake needs improvement, I only managed to meet or exceed the 6 glasses 4 days this week.
  • I only ate 2 pieces of fruit twice this week.
  • Vege, well I love my vegies, I got that right 5 times.
  • Fat intake below 25% of over all calories, only hit the make thrice.


So, there are still a few things I need to work on.
I need to make sure I'm drinking more water, eating some fruit and a few more vegies and I need to really think about the amount of fat in my diet.


But, over all I'm very happy with how I am going.

Party Time

I'm going to a party tomorrow night, I'd like to be able to drink a few boozy beverages and have a few tastey snacks without having a total calorie blow out. I'm not sure how I am going to go.
I plan on having a pretty low calorie lunch, and I'm going to be drinking sugar free Cruisers, because they have only 77 calories per drink.
Snacks wise I don't know what's going to happen. There is bound to be some deliciously tempting things there like brie and dips and things.... mmm... I'll have to try and exercise some self control.
I'll tell you how I go.

My Goals

Last night I was thinking about my goals. I have a goal weight of under 70kg. But I was thinking about when I want to reach that weight, over what period of time?

I want to do it at a healthy rate, because I know quick weight-loss doesn't usually last.
So I am aiming for around 1kg a week. But I know that I won't always lose that amount, and that at some point I am bound to have a bit of a gain, after all, Christmas is coming up soon!
After thinking about it for a while I decided that my long term goal would be for me to lose 35 kilograms by the end of August next year. I am pretty sure that is something I can stick to (hopefully).


In the mean time, my first short term goal will be for me to get under the 100kg mark. When I last weighed myself, on Saturday, I weighed 102.3kg. So I am hoping I can lose that 2.3kg by the 4th of December.


I have a few other goals, after all, this is about being healthy, not just losing weight. I would like to be able to complete at least 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week, drink the recommended 6 glasses of water a day and reduce my fat intake to less than 25% of my total daily calorie intake.
Edit: Also, I'd like to make sure I'm eating the recommended 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegies every day. Vegies I reckon I can do, fruit is another story, I don't enjoy most fruits, apples etc...


So, my goals are:
Long term:
Lose 35kg by the end of August 2011.
Complete 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week.
Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day.
Eat 2 serves of fruit & 5 serves of vegetables.


Short Term
Reduce my fat intake to less than 25% of my total daily calorie intake.
Lose 2.3kg (and weigh less than 100kg) by the 4th of December 2010.

Alright... Here I go...

My name is Tegan, I'm 25 and I am over weight.

I've tried several times in the past to lose weight, and here I am again, giving it another go.
This time feels different though, and I'm hoping that feeling means it will stick.

My start weight was around 105Kg (at the end of October 2010) and my goal is to be under 70Kg (which is in the high end of the healthy weight range for someone of my height).

My plan is to make a weekly post here, to share my current weight and measurements, and see how I've gone through the week and discuss any issues I might have faced.



I don't really mind if people are or aren't reading this, its really just for me, to keep me motivated. :)
